Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-performance 2D rendering pipelines and rendering engines.
- Optimize sprite batching, texture atlases, and memory management for 2D assets.
- Create and maintain custom GLSL/HLSL shaders to achieve unique visual effects (VFX) in 2D space.
- Collaborate with the art team to debug and resolve rendering issues and optimize workflow pipelines.
- Integrate physics engines and collision detection systems specifically tailored for 2D gameplay mechanics.
- Ensure cross-platform compatibility and performance optimization for mobile, console, and desktop.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
- 5+ years of professional experience in 2D graphics programming or game engine development.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and/or C# with deep knowledge of graphics APIs (OpenGL, DirectX, Vulkan).
- Experience with game engines such as Unity (2D URP/HDRP) or Unreal Engine (2D modules).
- Deep understanding of pixel art workflows, sprite optimization, and rendering techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
